Who we are
Hi there. Our names are Maya, Lily, and Nina, and we’re sisters from Illinois. The day after Christmas of 2023, we lost our father, Ferris, to colorectal cancer. Before this, we had never known death. Our dad’s passing was the first loss in our lives, splitting time into “before” and “after.” Navigating the “after” has been challenging, but it has also highlighted the beautiful impact that our dad had on our lives.
Through grief, we turned to writing as an outlet. We were also blessed with a caring and devoted support system. Family, friends, and even strangers were there to listen to us–feel with us. Some also opened up to us about their own journeys through love and loss, sparking a realization: grief is a path that all people must walk, but it doesn’t have to be walked alone.
Our goal was to create this website as a safe space–a place to share our stories and reflections to help others experiencing loss. We hope to offer comfort, connection, and community. On this site, we share blog posts, creatively exploring our grief through non-fiction, fiction, and poetry. We also open the floor to submissions, so that you have a platform to share your own loss experience, helping others in the process. Your voice is powerful, and it matters to us.
If you’re looking for support, or if you just need someone to listen, please reach out through our email submission form below. We’re always here.
Until Forever Ends
We chose this name because our love for our late father is eternal—lasting until forever ends. With this boundless love comes unwavering grief, which we will hold in our hearts for the rest of time. But, if loss is the price of once having such a caring and wonderful presence in our lives, then we would pay it over and over.
Our name is a tribute to our dad, whom will always inspire us, motivate us, and drive us to live in a way that would make him proud.
